Stone Mills Company Ltd. was created in 2000 as a hobby business by
myself, Bob Simpson to buy and sell cameras and darkroom equipment. I am
a camera nut (Leica & Nikon) with interests in microscopy. I had owned a
veterinary medical company called Canmedical, for over 20 years and
wanted to "play around" in the camera market. Before I knew it, sales
had nearly surpassed my medical sales and I was having a whole lot of
fun at it. Both companies continue to operate and I am still having fun.
We have a staff of two full time and one part time person, and we ship
products all over the world now. I lost track a long time ago as to how
many countries we have shipped to. We have a 600 square foot wood shop
that we use for professionally crating large items, as well as a "foam
in place" foam injection packing machine to protect the boxed and /or
crated items.
